Q: Can anyone use Camp Byng?

A: We welcome all users however; Scout Groups get priority use of Camp Byng. We also welcome third party non-Scouting groups as long as they fully indemnify and hold Scouts Canada harmless with respect to such usage and are able to provide the following:

1. A signed Scouts Canada’s Organizational Hold Harmless and Indemnity Agreement.

2. A Certificate of Insurance naming Scouts Canada as additional insured with minimum coverage in the amount of $2 million. Organizations can obtain this from their insurer and private groups such as family reunions; will need to purchase special event insurance.

Q: Do I need to bring a sleeping bag?

A: Our sleeping areas are equipped with bunks but no blankets. All users are advised to bring sleeping bags and any sleeping gear they require. Oversize mattresses are not permitted.

Q: Do I need to bring dishes?
A: Yes – Each camper should bring their own plate, bowl, mug and cutlery – preferably in a net bag so that dishes can be washed and hung to dry. Kitchens are fully equipped with cooking needs.

Q: Is Camp Byng pet friendly?
A: No – Unless it is a service dog, please make sure your pet remains at home. Scouts Canada does not allow pets on property.
